Setting up your new Trezor hardware wallet for the first time involves several steps to ensure your device is secure and ready to use. Here's a detailed process:
Unbox Your Trezor:
Ensure the box is sealed and hasn't been tampered with.
Inside, you'll find the Trezor device, a USB cable, a recovery seed card, and instructions.
Connect Your Trezor to Your Computer:
Use the provided USB cable to connect the Trezor to your computer.
Visit the official Trezor setup page: trezor.io/start.
Install Trezor Bridge:
Trezor Bridge is software that allows your Trezor device to communicate with your computer.
Download and install Trezor Bridge from the setup page.
Launch Trezor Wallet Interface:
After installing Trezor Bridge, open the Trezor Wallet interface by clicking on the "Go to wallet" button on the setup page.
Follow the on-screen instructions to initialize your device.
Install Firmware:
If your Trezor device doesn't have firmware installed, you'll be prompted to install the latest firmware.
